Welcome to INPS South Central Chapter. We have 188 members, 45 of whom have been part of the organization for more than 10 years. Our members include many knowledgeable folks, including professors, naturalists, master gardeners, and many who just love our natural world.

Our region boasts many state parks, nature preserves, and other natural areas that are home to a wide diversity of plants. We strive to get out to these areas with guided hikes several times a year. Our own Indiana University houses the IU Herbarium, which is a tremendous source of information and home of Charles Deam’s collection.

Most of our activities center around the Bloomington area, largely due to the expertise and the county with the most active members. We have a program coordinator, an outreach coordinator, and a hike coordinator. We have hosted our statewide INPS conference three times (2006, 2014, 2017) and will be hosting again in 2021.

Please engage with us to learn more and educate others about our beautiful natural areas and the plants that inhabit south-central Indiana.
