President’s Message for 2020

As we look toward the year ahead I can’t help but congratulate everyone involved in our NE chapter for the soaring success that was 2019.

We increased our membership by 20, held exciting programs and hikes in 4 counties and topped the year off by hosting the statewide Indiana Native Plant Society’s Annual Conference at the Grand Wayne Center in downtown Fort Wayne. Compliments were abundant and those INPS members who traveled to Fort Wayne for the first time were impressed.  Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive and illustrated that our region not only is a showcase for excellent natural areas but also has the commitment from many experts and talented individuals who support our native plant mission.

You’re going to love what we have in store for you in 2020. The program committee is already hard at work solidifying a good variety of programs for your enjoyment. Don’t miss our January and February events. One highlight certainly will be the spring wildflower hike featuring the new and beautifully illustrated children’s book Wake Up, Woods. Please join us and bring a friend!

We’re looking forward to sharing our love of native plants with you and continuing the conversation about the critical connection native plants make with wildlife in our region’s natural areas.  Join us, not just out on the hiking trail but with your suggestions and ideas as we continue to make the INPS Northeast chapter one of the best in the state.
