“To the River!” Nature Walk at Ouabache Trails Park on August 11, 2019
Beautiful Ouabache Trails Park, just north of Vincennes, Indiana, is bordered on one side by the Wabash River. Join local Naturalist Terri Talarek King on August 11 for a casual walk through the floodplain to the river, observing the life that is uniquely adapted to these ecosystems, and look for animal tracks along the creek and riverside.
Meet at 2:00 pm Eastern at the start of the River Fishing Trail (Trail 8 on the map). After the park entrance, proceed straight toward the “lower loop” – the starting point is on the left, shortly after the entrance gate.
Participants should be prepared for wet and muddy conditions, including appropriate footwear. If the trail is not completely accessible, the walk will begin on Trail 4, across the road, instead of to the river.
All ages are welcome, and families encouraged. This walk is part of the Second Sunday Nature Exploration series for 2019, all at Ouabache Trails Park. It is free, and no registration is required.
