Volunteer Shrub Planting on Tuesday, April 21

Volunteers are needed for one, two, or as many hours as they can give to help plant 800 small native shrubs on a slope along Ferry St. running east from the 18th St underpass to the road that enters Murdock Park in Lafayette.

These shrubs will replace the removed invasive infestation of Asian bush honeysuckle which was treated in 2013, with follow-up in 2014.

* Workday starts at 8 AM and goes until finished (early afternoon, or sooner, depending on how many volunteers help out).

* There is parking in Murdock Park above the planting area and across from Murdock School. Some parking is available along Ferry Street at the planting site.

* Shovels will be provided by Tree Lafayette, but volunteers should bring gloves and wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.
