Protest Paddle on Endangered Stretch of White River May 30

Join Heart of the River Coalition on a float down the section of the West Fork of the White River being threatened by the economic development plan to build an environmentally destructive dam. 

 

Saturday, May 30 (rain date June 13)

Canoe Country, Daleville, Indiana 

Canoes and kayaks available for rent, reservations recommended at 765-378-7358 or canoeindiana.com

Gathering time – 9:00 am, Launch – 10:00 am

Paddlers with their own boats, drop boats at Canoe Country. Directions to the take-out point (8th Street bridge, Anderson) will be provided. A shuttle will transport paddlers back to Canoe Country after they drop off their vehicles.

Distance approx. 8 miles. Bring your lunch for an island picnic stop along the way!

HR will flag significant cultural and historic features all along the endangered 8-mile section of river and paddlers will receive an interpretive map showing those sites.
