Anderson City Council to Hold Public Hearing on Mounds Reservoir May 28

Things are happening at a fast pace on the Mounds Reservoir front. The Delaware County Council held a special meeting on Tuesday evening to provide an opportunity for the public to express their views on the proposed reservoir. Over 350 people attended, and nearly 50 people spoke. All of those who spoke were opposed to the reservoir. No one spoke in favor of it.
Instead of endorsing the proposed Mounds Reservoir Commission as the Anderson Council for Economic Development had initially hoped, the Council is considering actively opposing the reservoir.
The Anderson City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed Commission next Thursday, May 28. The Council for Economic Development has indicated a desire to continue with formation of the Commission even without the participation of the county councils from either Madison County or Delaware County.
